Meet Jen Barta!
Hi! my name is Jennifer Barta. I am a TV enthusiast who watches everything from Saved by the Bell reruns and Days of Our Lives to the new 90210. I also have a love for all reality television, especially American Idol.
I grew up in a small town in New Jersey, 30 minutes from New York City and still live there today. I went to the University of Massachusetts and earned a B.A in sociology, where I met one of my best friends, Amanda Ellis ( better known as “Gardner”). A couple of years after the Zoo, I decided teaching was my passion and received my masters degree from Marygrove College in Detriot Michigan, in Elementary Reading and Literacy.
I currently work in an elementary school in West Orange, NJ and absolutely love spending time educating children and watching them grow both as students as well as people.
Because I am a teacher, I have the weekends off, and, unless I have tests to grade, writing to read, or homework to check, I have time at night to watch all of my shows. This blog will consist of opinions, reactions, and various points of view after shows have been watched. Check back frequently for witty comments and the reactions of a T.V viewer just like you! After hours is the place to go after the show! And no, I don’t watch commercials.

Meet Amanda Ellis!
My name is Amanda “Gardner” Ellis, better known as “Gardner” to my friends. I am a book of useless entertainment knowledge, and can admit I am a hopeless television addict! I have been known to rearrange my schedule and sadly have cancelled or even lied about my weeknight activities, just so I wouldn’t have to miss the latest episode, even with the greatest invention ever made…the DVR, but there is nothing like watching live television! My broad range of favorites include teenage dramas like Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars, anything with vampires in it, and of course reality TV including Top Chef and the one that started it all…American Idol.
Besides TV and my actual job of restaurant marketing for Diningin.com, I enjoy spending time with my husband $ dogs, traveling, long walks, reading and slowly but surely learning how to cook.
Jennifer “Barta” and I met at the University of Massachusetts in the fall of 2001 and have remained friends ever since. We are famous for coming up with fabulous ideas, but never acting on them until the launch of afterhourstelevision.com!
If you think about it, the best part of the show is the final five minutes, holding your phone in your hand with your best friend on speedial counting down until you can recap what just took place and waiting the next seven days to see what happens and waiting again for after hours to begin!
So for all you television addicts out there and even a guest movie blog here or there, this will be your best source of exciting TV recaps, opinions, reactions and of course the added benefit of humor. So stay tuned and get ready for the after party!
